Paige Samblanet, a current Syracuse University cheerleader, tore her ACL going into her freshman year at SU. After rehabbing for a whole year with some of the best athletic trainers in the country, she was back to cheerleading. However, it didn’t take long for another setback to head her way.
In the fall of her sophomore year (2011), Paige was doing a standing tuck and tore her meniscus in the same knee. An injury that usually takes a couple of months to fully recover from, only took Paige a couple weeks. She was back running, lifting and cheering in no time.
Two injuries, two surgeries and a lot of pain later, Paige was voted team MVP as a junior. She also earned a spot as one of three female captains on a team for 40. This is all proof that nothing can stand in her way.
